The Simplest, Must-Have Tool for Laminating

The most common tool used for spreading resin is the squeegee. Squeegees are essential for the workshop, particularly when it comes to laminating high-performance fabrics. These thin, flexible plastic rectangles are commonly used to spread mixed resin, force resin into reinforcement fabric, remove excess resin and eliminate air bubbles trapped between and under the fabric layers. The squeegee is indispensable for removing excess resin to minimize weight. It's also the most widely used tool for applying thickened filling and fairing compounds.

• Plastic squeegees are the fastest way to evenly distribute resin in most full-scale applications. They are useful for spreading fillers and for general-purpose fiberglass work.
• There is also a soft rubber version of the squeegee. #1108 3" x 6" Rubber squeegees are excellent for forcing resin through high performance fabrics without the fear of snagging or distorting costly fibers. Rubber naturally conforms to contours within the mold and provides better control than the plastic varieties, so it is particularly useful when there is a lot of detail in the part.

Squeegees (#363-A, #362-A, #62-A, #1108-A), when ordered alone, will typically ship in an envelope or small box. Mulitple packs of squeegees (#62-B, #1108-B) will typically ship in a small or medium box. Where possible, we will combine ordered items to reduce the number of boxes shipped.
